Aside from both being mamas to tiny humans, Chelsea is a freelance graphic designer and content creator and Kalei has a background of accessory production. We were born and raised in a small town in western North Carolina.
Driven by the magic and wonder of the surrounding natural world, each piece of jewelry is influenced by the dreamy Mexico desert scenery with the dusty colors of the Carolina skies. Having American and Mexican values- we wanted to tie in inspiration from both beautiful cultures.
IT ALL STARTED
when we were just girls- maybe 11 or 12. We can remember a summer when we were in the backseat of the car traveling to Mexico and making knotted friendship bracelets. We discovered our creativity in the art of making pieces by hand started way before we realized our passion for it.
Years later, they both graduated with a Fashion Marketing and Management degree at the Art Institute of Charlotte together. Following that, they both worked 4 and 2.5 years consecutively at a jewelry studio in Charlotte and within that time, had both became mamas of three little ones within 2 years. When the time came that being a stay-at-home mom was more valuable, they wanted to put all of their time into creating something of their own with their love and talent for jewelry artistry. Excited to mesh their unique individual skills, they’ve designed Suerte del Sol.
